If you sign up, you pay 2-3 times as much for 2/3 the insurance, and a ten to fifteen thousand dollar deductible. If you don't sign up, you pay for everyone else' insurance, get fined by the IRS, and still don't have "legal" insurance.

You know your arguments would have more weight if you didn't exaggerate as much. There's no exaggeration there. The reason premiums are going up so fast under Puppettax is because those buying the policies are paying for others' insurance. That's why contraception is required, even if you are a single male. That's why well baby coverage is required, even if you are an 80 year old couple. Same for addiction counseling, and a host of other things The Puppet and his Merry Marxists have decided everyone should have, but his main constituents can't afford.

Notice it's "to $20,000". Under Puppetcare, you only have 4 choices, and even the least of the deductibles is about $6000. So, if a family, or an individual, can't afford the premiums, how will they afford $6000?

In addition, under at least some of the Puppettax "policies", not only do you have a higher deductible, but you are also stuck for 30% of the remainder. n this report, a young lady rails against the costs of her new ObamaCare-compliant insurance coverage. Her previous policy cost her $199 per month with a $1,500 annual deductible ($3,888 total before 100% insurance coverage kicks in). The closest matching ObamaCare plan will cost her $278 per month with a $6,500 annual deductible ($9,888 total before only 70% coverage kicks in). That's a 252% increase between the plans, and she is still on the hook for 30% of all costs thereafter. I don't think he is that far off. We were quoted a "Silver" plan that had a deductible of $12,000 and a premium of over $12,000 per year. We don't qualify for a subsidy. Correct my if I am wrong, but the Silver plan is not even the good plan. So, as much as you like to bash Redleg for his hyperbole, his points are quite often spot on. I should go in and check out with the higher plans are. We have had private insurance for 10 years now. Our current deductible is $2,500 per person $5,000 per family annually with a premium of $780/mo. Our plan will no longer be available for 2014, as it is not compliant. Oh, and our current plan even includes a maternity rider just in case of an accident. Covers everything my family of 4 needs.

The new talking point seem to be that your plan was junk insurance BullIsland which I don't understand why that is.
I am sick of government thinking they own us.

Heck, if I wanted a plan with a $12,000 deductible I could have done so for $200 or lest per month. It looks like now I am expected to pay for my own coverage as well as a few others that weren't responsible enough to take care of their own business. This county is upside down.

The whole concern has been I thought that many were going bankrupt because of health care costs. Okay, it would also seem that the new affordable Obamacare is going to bankrupt many due to the premium costs. I am baffled.

Are you F-ing kidding us? Sadly no, welcome to America under obamacare and liberals! Thought I'd re-quote the OP, since everyone seems to have forgotten what this thread was about. Demeaning to women? How about demeaning to every sentient, young adult? Obamacare is great, because it'll let us all be promiscuous with no consequences? This is what the Colorado Government thinks of the Millennial Generation? That their life-goal is to screw like cats in heat with any passing stranger in the night? (Oh, yeah, and do keg stands, too. Another fine life-goal.) Frankly, a more REALISTIC appeal would be: "We just got married, and an unplanned pregnancy would mess up our financial planning. We need three years before we'll be able to afford a child." Truth is, most people put bed-hopping with total strangers in the realm of fantasy. What they really want is someone they can talk to over breakfast--maybe even grow old with. Even those avoiding matrimony go in for "serial monogamy", not random sex with strangers. If anyone wants to know why the "religious right" gets all antsy about American culture these days, this ad, promoting a Government Program, is part of the reason.

I appreciate my religious upbringing and teaching it to my children. I would not know how to teach my teens that it is okay to screw around and tell them not to worry because government will provide the necessary birth control at someone else's expense. These commercials are degrading.

It looks like now I am expected to pay for my own coverage as well as a few others that weren't responsible enough to take care of their own business. This county is upside down. That is exactly right. If you don't qualify for a subsidy, Obama assumes, then you have enough money to pick up the tab for those who do. Higher deductibles are a good thing. They should encourage people to shop around for things that aren't emergent, like the CT their doctor ordered or whatnot. The law does not, and should have, mandated that all providers of medical services be required to share what they charge. Suppose you have two coffee shops. One charges $25 for a cup of coffee, and the other charges $1.50. Neither posts its charges. The charges can change from month to month. How do you decide which one to patronize? Is the $25 cup of coffee a lot better? How do you know? Medical services are a lot like this. Did you know you'll pay two to three times as much for an MRI done at an imaging service attached to a hospital? This is because hospitals often boost these prices to underwrite departments that don't make money, like the emergency department. Government could mandate that providers make this information available: charges, number of times a provider has been sued and why, and so forth. As an issuer of licenses it is in an excellent position to demand the holders of the licenses are forthright with consumers, as we expect every other business to do. But it doesn't.

When I first saw this ad, I assumed it was an attack on Obamacare from someone who didn't like it. now I find out that it was actually a serious ad, meant to sway young women towards signing up for this half-baked Ponzi scheme. I keep wondering how low they will go, and am surprised by the depth at every turn. When you can't tell the parody from reality, it has all gotten too strange.
