I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think the Os will play the winner of the Central in the 1st round. They haven't played either of those teams in the 2nd half. I guess I prefer KC, since Scherzer, Porcello, Price doesn't sound too encouraging. But KC could be tough, I don't know much about them. Anything can happen in the playoffs.
Anybody but Oakland. Their lineup seems to have our number.
It is so awesome they won the East.

I'd rather have KC for the reasons stated, though Price doesn't scare me as much as he used to. Also, I think our pitchers can shut KC's offense down completely. Detroit on the other hand, has a very potent offense, and while overall their pitching isn't what it used to be, they are capable of getting hot.
Oakland doesn't scare me anymore. I'd actually be more worried about the Mariners, if they make it in instead. That staff is brutal.

As I said on another thread, it really doesn't make any difference at this point since anyone can win a short series. What matters most is who you have on the mound, and at this point, I'd be willing to match Tillman or Chen against virtually any other team's ace.

Boy, this thread is eerie, now. No doubt. Just goes to show the unpredictable nature of baseball in the playoffs. Detroit turned out to just have too glaring a weakness in their bullpen, and the Cy Young Trio wasn't good enough to avoid them like many thought. KC is just playing lights out good baseball, hotdoggery and questionable sportsmanship aside. They are just a good young team that has been streaky this season, and is hot at just the right time. I wouldn't bet against them in the WS.

I wouldn't bet against them in the WS. Speaking of betting, I stepped into a casino the other day, thinking about placing a bet in hope of an O's comeback, which I thankfully did not do. This was when the Royals were up 2 games to 0. The night of the rainout. This was the odds that day for the bets of each team to win the WS Baltimore 4/1 St Louis 2/1 SF 2/1 KC 6/5 So according to that, it appears that a lot of people had already jumped on the KC betwagon. Don't be too surprised if KC loses in the series and Vegas cleans up. Then again, we don't yet know how many bets will go to the underdog.

I'm waiting to see how Kansas City responds when (if?) they're dealt their first postseason loss. The tendency is when a team such as this finally hits a bump in the road, things can go downhill fairly rapidly. Momentum is great to have. . .until you don't have it.
