I wouldn't have been surprised if they lost, either. But I left work when they were down 5-3. Verlander was out & Sanchez wasn't going to finish the game. I thought there was a reasonable chance they could come back in 9 outs. These guys are scrappy! What a great team to root for.

You're only as good as your bullpen, and the Tiger's pen is atrocious. All this talk about the Tiger's "great" rotation, 3 Cy Young winners, etc, but it's the Orioles starters who have the best ERA in the AL since the All-Star break.
That game was a back breaker for Detroit. It was their chance to climb back into the series, but they are in serious trouble now.

Taking Anibal Sanchez out for Joba Chamberlain in the eighth was a huge mistake.
