I had a feeling, living in Vegas I get a feel for when gamblers are about to get taken to the cleaners. KC became a big favorite. A lot of them jumped on the KC betwagon. If SF wins the series, the bookies will prosper a lot more.

It'll be interesting to see how the Royals respond tonight now that they're the ones in an almost must-win situation. Aside from the wildcard playoff with Oakland, they've largely been able to play this postseason pressure-free.
Madison Bumgarner has been an absolute stud in the postseason thus far.

I think the KC bubble may have just popped. Everything had gone their way in the playoffs until last night.

If SF wins the series, the bookies will prosper a lot more. "Bookies" are businessmen not gamblers. They live upon the gamblers. Bookies score on the vigorish, NOT by taking risks. It's difficult to push on a string so they create 'odds' where equal money accrues on both sides of the bet.

Bookies will definitely ride a trend if they think their chances are good. For example a lot of fair weather gamblers are riding on the KC wave. The real bookies know that SF has more experience and probably a better team with a better chance of winning, but they will happily fool the public into thinking KC is really the favorite to bring in more bets. The more experienced gamblers who bet with their minds and not their hearts will probably take SF, and if the wave goes the other way, the line will certainly shift the other way.

The Royals lose one game the entire post season and all the experts on here write them off. Has anyone every gone undefeated through the entire playoffs?

The 1976 Reds went 7-0 in the postseason, sweeping both the Phillies and the Yankees. And prior to 1969, a number of teams went undefeated throughout the playoffs. It was called a World Series sweep.

Thanks, but don't they have to play more games to win it all now? It looks like no one has done it since 1976, i that when they started having to win more games?

If you have to ask that question, maybe you should stop with your snide remarks about "experts", and leave the sports talk to the people who actually follow and pay attention to it.

The Giants are cruising towards an easy win in Game 4 tonight, rallying from a 4-1 deficit to go up 11.4. At one point the hits total read seven for KC and none for San Francisco. The Giants wound up with hits from 11 different batters, which is a record for a National League team in a Series game.
I thought the difference tonight was the unavailability of Kelvim Herrera for Kansas City. Had he been available, the Royals likely would have brought him in to try and shut down a Giants rally. As it was, the Giants scored three runs to take a 7-4 lead and never looked back. Big win for San Francisco since they obviously couldn't afford to fall behind 3 games to 1.

Giants up 3-2 now, but it's going to be hard to close it out in KC against this scrappy team.

Tonight's Game 6 had all the drama of a PTA meeting after the second inning. As a result, the Series will go to a seventh game for only the second time in the past 11 years.
Since the Giants couldn't muster an iota of offense tonight, Kansas City's bullpen will be well-rested going into Game 7. They could start bringing in the horses as early as the second or third inning if they need to try and put down a rally.

I think KC has this in the bag. That bullpen will, like you said, be brought in early the instant SF mounts any kind of offense.

Madison Bumgarner is simply not of this earth. Five shutout innings tonight on two days rest. That brings his Series totals to 21 IP, 1 ER, and eight hits. Oh, and he also won three of the four games. And to think that they've got this guy locked up through at least 2017.
Ned Yost--who, in my opinion, was never the brightest manager to ever grace a dugout--is going to come in for some second-guessing after tonight. I still can't fathom why he didn't pinch-hit the lefty-hitting Aoki in the eighth for the righthanded Josh Willingham against Bumgarner. If there was ever a time to bring in righthanded power, that was it.
The Giants are the first team to win a World Series Game 7 on the road since the 1979 Pirates, who beat the. . .well, let's not go there.

Congrats to the Giants, I thought KC had them right where they wanted, but you're right Bumgarner is absolutely incredible. Like all-time incredible. Wow.
