Payment for their support of Obamacare, one supposes: they will be exempted from the reinsurance tax baked into all premiums ($63/person/year for now) that capitalizes a plan which pays insurers if their costs for plans they sell on the exchange are higher than they expect. What's wrong with it: 1) Unions shouldn't be exempt from anything the rest of us have to pay. That they are is pure, partisan politics. 2) Insurance companies should not be indemnified in this way. They know how much to charge for their plans, or ought to. 3) Its blatant use, as per usual, of Federal control of money for social engineering. Bad social engineering. Article

no surprise there. Obumble is quite willing to give our money to unions to keep them in the fold.
Remeber what he did to the GM bond holders.

They wrote a lot of it. Obama knew without their backing he couldn't pass the law; they own a lot of congressmen.

Let's see what the situation is? Government is more than 40% of GDP! Those remaining must not only satisfy customers with a product, but in their spare time support financially an ever demanding government, plus "lobby", so that they are still able to accomplish all the above! Remember, lobbying is a cost of business that satisfies not one consumer... it is only borne so that the entity can live to serve one more day. In my experience even the most harmless sorts such as snowball stands and rural redneck junkyards are driven crazy by regulators.... can you imagine the problems and expenses the social technologies face? Playing defence (lobbying) may offend you all, but is there any choice?
