The field hockey team is the top seed in the Big Ten tournament!
Honestly, for Maryland sports other than football and maybe basketball, the move to the Big 10 actually represented a step down. Sports such as soccer, lacrosse and field hockey probably had better overall competition in the ACC.

Anyone watch the Terps win at Ann Arbor?
Is there anyone left who still follows Terps roundball?

Terps BB did OK and won a game against a ranked team. Too early to say, but as "usual" there are possibilities......

Terps won on the road yesterday at Purdue. I'm slowly becoming accustomed to following the Big Ten.

A decent W last night against Rutgers. An Eddie Jordan coached team who had just defeated Wisconsin!

A rather nice win yesterday over Michigan State. Tom Izzo is a tough guy to defeat!

Yes that was a nice win. The Terps just seemed to control that game in many phases of play.

Terps are not a mirage - this is a really good team. Trimble is looking like a star.

I have been working the Terps games this year. The non conference games werent busy. The conference games have been packed. I work the parking lots and usually I only collect about $150 in cash. Since the conference games its been $700-$900 a game. Most people have the permits so they pay in advance.

The game last night was amazing! I lucked into floor seats in the second row under the Terps 2nd half basket, so all the last second action happened just a few feet away. Wow!

It was my first time to Xfinity Center, and the tickets are my girlfriend's. The parking garage she parks in is right next to the entrance.

I think my transition to this Big Ten thing has been easier than I expected. It's not the old days of college basketball, but it's better than I expected. I'm gettin' by.

Maryland men are the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region, which also happens to be the Kentucky bracket. Maryland's first-round matchup with Valparaiso isn't a sure thing, but I think it would be safe to say that unless the entire Kentucky team contracts bubonic plague, the Terps will advance no further than the Sweet 16. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see the Terps as having enough firepower or length to have a chance at beating the Wildcats.

Interesting times, this basketball tournament stuff is! I don't think the Terps will get past the first game. The second round is probably just as daunting. Right now I'm most interested in the Buffalo-WV first round game and the second round Kentucky-Purdue matchup.

Well, the one thing the Terps have going for them: Obama picked Kentucky to go all the way. Historically, he has a very good track record at picking losers. Not good news for Kentucky...

Skin-of-their-teeth win tonight for the Terps against Valpo. No Brice Drew miracle this time around, although there could have been a foul called on that last-second three-point attempt by Valparaiso.

The Maryland women are one win away from the Final Four after beating Duke today.
Wisconsin is the first Final Four entry after beating Arizona today. Those guys can shoot the ball, particularly Kaminsky and Dekker. I don't really care who wins it all, so long as it isn't Kentucky or Duke. I can't stand John Calipari (how can a guy who got two other programs in hot water with the NCAA still be coaching?) and Duke has won enough. It'd be nice to see either Wisconsin or Gonzaga cutting down the nets next Monday.
