This one was way to small for a Mule deer. We saw quite a few like this and some slightly larger. Too small to shoot but fun to look at.

Those mulies sure do have some big racks. They do at that. From what I have seen even an average mulie makes a nice whitetail look smallish. I also like watching them when they are stotting, you know that stiff legged bounce they do. Every eastern whitetail hunter should try to go out west at least once. I am sorry it took me so long.

Those mulies sure do have some big racks. They have some big bodies too. The one I got weighed about 300 lbs. Here is the first steak I grilled from him. How often do you see a whitetail steak with that much fat (and that takes up that much room on the grill)?

Almost 50 yrs of deer hunting and only came home 2 years empty, all bucks no doe shooting for me. I'v had my share of deer meat I can tell you but I don;t think I'v had a sreak that big, good job woodbuchr.
