A sixth round draft pick of the Bengals, he tore his ACL last year and started '13 on the PUP. The Bengals released him about a month ago.
Per the official site.

Am I the only one, not feeling optimistic about this signing?

Yeah, kind of a head scratcher if you ask me. There are a couple of decent receivers still out there and I think we could use one of them more..

Probably at a very low salary, vet minimum? He's just there for depth. Pierce and Rice are both a bit banged up.

Seems like not so long ago other teams signed the Ravens' castoffs...

With the offensive line troubles, nobody is safe back there.

What Alienrace said. This is a depth move, nothing more nothing less. Hopefully he never has to see the field.
On a related note, I'm getting concerned about Pierce's history of injuries. I think the guy could be a killer when healthy, the key word being when.

With the offensive line troubles, nobody is safe back there. Bingo! The problems are not with the RBs it's with the O-Line.

And the coaching ie- the offensive line coach who changed the scheme this off season. See the quotes from McKinnie about that, very few players happy about the change and Castillo, s stated by Bryant, even told them it would take about 6, -8 games for them to get a good handle on the new scheme....

I wonder why Castillo changed the blocking scheme, when it was working last year? Sure, you have to make incremental adjustments or other teams will know how to beat you. But when what you've got is working, wholesale changes are dumb.
