The gamblers favor the Ravens by 2 1/2 points. That's less than the usual field goal they spot the home team. The outcome of this game, and the way they play it, will say a lot about the season. A loss here and I think we're looking at 4-12, 5-11, or 6-10, especially if the defense gets outplayed and outcoached like it did in Oakland. A win suggests they might salvage a winning record, but probably not do much better: 8-8 or 9-7. I see them finishing in third place. Only because the Browns are always so bad. Right now, the defense is We'll see if they can fix it.

This... is a very bad football team so far. Neither unit has shown up, and the defense looks no better than last week. Maybe worse.

Oir secondary is like swiss cheese. Pees needs to be FIRED NOW

The offense showed up in the second half, but the defense never did. Bisciotti ought to call Harbs and Pees in and ask them how they plan to fix it. Make certain they understand that the owner has his eye on this. And that a turnaround is essential or Pees is done end of the year.
Here's my predictions going forward: Steelers (L)1, Browns (W), at 49ers (L), at Cardinals (L), Chargers (L), Jaguars (W), Rams (W?), Browns (L), Dolphins (L), Seahawks (L), Chiefs (W?), Steelers (L?), Bengals (L).
1Yes, I know they took Ben off on the cart, but the Ravens have lost to Steelers backups with better defensive units.
So, a final record 2-14 to 4-12.
Unless Pees can work some kind of miracle and turn that defense around.

I think the Ravens may have overvalued their talent on the defensive side, and worse, they look like a team that got too caught up in their preseason advance notices.
Suggs' loss certainly hurt, but I don't think it should have been a crippling blow since Suggs was clearly not the player he had been even before the injury. The linebacking crew was getting long in the tooth (Suggs, Dumervil and Smith are all north of 30), and it showed itself today at the end of the game. Those guys just can't play as many snaps as they did in the past, but I think I heard today that the Ravens only had five active players on the defensive front. Couple the increased workload with a shaky secondary and there aren't going to be many stops in the final, critical minutes of a game.

The pre-season suggested that the Ravens aren't deep. When your chief defensive players are >30, that isn't good.
Webb has peaked and is on the way down. Smith shows flashes of real skill but I suspect he has a ten cent head, too. And even at his best he is not shutdown. Hill also shows flashes of talent, but too infrequently. The secondary is basically a sieve. When that's true you've got to force mistakes with blitzing and rushing schemes the opponent hasn't seen. Unfortunately for the Ravens, Pees hasn't seen those, either.
I have less of a problem with Trestman. Joe has exactly one decent receiver, Smith, and even he makes mistakes at some very inopportune moments. It's almost to the point where I wonder why they didn't put Perriman on IR and look at him next year. Even a scrap heap guy would be a better option at this point. The offensive line is inconsistent: one play, solid, the next, Swiss cheese. That's going to affect your whole game.
All together, this is simply not a good team. And Harbaugh too frequently can't get both units to show up for all four quarters.
Head coaches, no matter how good they are, eventually wear out their welcome. I don't know if that's happened to Harbaugh, but maybe.

I predict they will find a way to lose the Dog Whacker and his Yinzerburg Steelers.

Are they really that bad? Maybe not but at 0 & 3 doesn't matter. They CAN play great... just not for 60 minutes. They had real chances to win all 3, no blowouts.

They have been close in 3 games, they can't finish them
Our defense is horrible

In a lot of Harbaugh era losses, the problem can be traced to an inability to coach the team to play hard all four quarters. They have also lost by taking poor opponents lightly on various occasions. The offense is... okay. Joe's good, they don't have any other air weapons and their running game is unremarkable. The offensive line is inconsistent (and the mark of the true professional, IMO, is consistency). The defense is horrendous. They can't cover, can't pass-rush, can't even reliably stop the run any longer. Special teams are unremarkable.

I don't know if it's bad enough for Bis to be involved yet, or not. I do believe he should be involved, to the point of making it very clear that Pees had better manage a U-turn or he will be working elsewhere next year. A really bad coordinator.
