This would certainly be a good week to start Philip Rivers if he's on your fantasy team.

He's going to light that shabby Ravens secondary on fire.
Heard on the radio: cheap Halloween costume ideas: Breshad Perriman - and you don't show up at all!

Well, they squeaked it out. A couple of guys came him big when they needed to (Webb had a much better game, and so did Aiken). Marlon Brown continues to disappoint. Urschel might get a Fields Medal one day, but he's no center. Some rather dubious pass interference calls in that game. And can someone PLEASE hide Harbs' challenge flag in the second half? A stupid challenge didn't hurt him this time, but it was still dumb!

Well, praise the lord, the Ravens actually pulled one out at the end. What time does the parade start tomorrow?
The defense was leaky, as always, but at least they held the Chargers to a field goal on their last possession. And it was nice to see the other team commit a dumb penalty at a crucial moment. I'm now completely at a loss as to what constitutes an offsides penalty. Asa Jackson clearly jumped the gun twice, but both times the play stood. He'll be the all-time NFL blocked kicks leader in about another couple of weeks if he keeps getting away with that.

Steve Smith done. Torn Achilles tendon, confirmed by Harbaugh. On a slow motion replay they showed how the Chargers' center telegraphed his snap by wiggling the ball slightly. Could Jackson have been keying off that, or could the officials have determined it was the start of the snap?

Could Jackson have been keying off that, or could the officials have determined it was the start of the snap? It's certainly true that all defensive players watch the center's hands to try and detect anything which might identify the snap, but Jackson was lined up all the way on the outside of the line. I doubt if he could see anything from out there.
Smith's injury only confirms my conviction that football should be played on natural grass. Injuries are part of the game, but that crap is only good for shortening careers.

It seems to me that the injuries got worse after the union won a shortened preseason; some guys are coming to camp out of shape, too. I'm looking at YOU, Lardarius Webb. But there sure seem to be a lot of injuries this year. I assume the facility has the same kind of turf (it would be foolish if they did not do that). I knew whatever was wrong with Smith was bad; when they cover the guy's head so no one seems him bawling, it's always bad. Certainly the Chargers felt Jackson was offsides, but they are not a disinterested party.

And that penalty on Hill. When the Ravens assume the officials know a guy has stopped, they let him get up and keep running. When they make sure he has stopped, that's unnecessary roughness. The league needs to sit its officials down and get them ALL ON THE SAME PAGE about when progress stops and what's unnecessary roughness.

Some reports say smith Sr may scrap retirement and come back in 16 Good luck to him, but that's going to be tough for a 36-year-old coming off an Achilles injury. Recovery for a young and otherwise healthy athlete can take six to nine months, and in a sport which emphasizes running, cutting and acceleration, it's difficult to imagine that he'll get back to the level he once was. But the fact that he's already scheduled surgery would seem to indicate that Smith wants to start the rehab process as soon as possible, which could certainly indicate that he's going to try and play next season.

Some reports say smith Sr may scrap retirement and come back in 16 Bad move IMO, for his sake I wished he retired 2 weeks ago.
