Osemele set to accept an offer for $10-$11MM with the Raiders. The Ravens didn't have enough cap space, and the Raiders apparently *have* to spend money or else they risk violating a CBA provision that in essences creates a salary floor.

Osemele's contract will yield $11.7 with a max value $12 million per annum, a deal which blows the lid off of the guard market. The Ravens really had no chance once other teams could begin contacting Osemele; he wasn't going to fit within their cap parameters. At least the Ravens can say they got four good years out of K.O. at a bargain price.
The trouble is, now there's a gaping hole at both guard and left tackle. The Ravens may have to use that No. 6 pick on Ronnie Stanley if he's still available.

I don't know if it blows the lid off or not. He was one of the better talents out there. The Ravens will surely miss him. I guess since they paid Joe a lot more money they're going to want to shore up that line. But damn, an edge rusher for the defense would sure be nice to have.

The Ravens did add some depth at tight end by signing Ben Watson to a two-year, $8 million deal. I guess Nick Boyle's suspension may have precipitated this signing, but I'm not sure about spending money at that position when they have bigger needs elsewhere that need to be addressed.

Boyle, and also I recall Crockett Gilmore had something wrong with him and was operated on after the season. I don't think it was serious, and I expect he'll be back at some point in '16.
