Read their prediction for the Orioles' 2016 season here.

it's possible. seems low to me, though. I expect them to be slightly worse than last season.

I'm predicting slightly under .500 with the hope that the Orioles can catch lightning in a bottle in a few areas. The starting pitching still scares the hell out of me.

The starting pitching still scares the hell out of me. They let Gonzo go. Apparently not throwing any better in ST than he did last year. That leaves Tillman, Ubaldo, Gallardo, and 2 open slots. Oozing awesomeness.

Without an attempt to improve their rotation, I expect a very bad season. It's looking like Gausman has peaked. Bundy had a good spring, but can he start? He's lost velocity, so he's not going to dominate. If Tillman and Ubaldo don't rebound, they're likely to be looking up at 60 wins.
I believe there is an institutional problem of some kind in the minors or the front office. Picking and developing quality pitching is hard to do, with a success rate of around 5% based on what I've read. But they Orioles seem particularly poor in this area.

Gonzalez has cleared waivers, so theoretically at least, the Orioles could now sign him to a minor league deal and send him to Norfolk. There are a couple of teams said to be interested in him; the White Sox, in fact, were said to be "aggressively" pursuing Gonzalez, although someone needs to explain to me how a team can aggressively pursue a guy on waivers.

Why would he sign a minor league deal? I believe he's better off trying to find a team somewhere else that can fix him, as Arietta did. Now, I'm not saying he's fixable the same way Arietta was. He might not be fixable at all. But the Orioles are broken as far as pitchers are concerned. Any chance he has at all is going to be elsewhere.
In fact, if I was a young pitcher the one thing I'd be hoping for is that the Orioles don't draft me. Much the same way the top college players dread hearing their name when Cleveland is on the clock.
