He fouled a ball off his foot yesterday. They X-Rayed him then, and saw something they did not like. An MRI today revealed the break. Article

Can't say I'm surprised. It's a shame, he doesn't seem to be able to stay healthy enough to contribute for a whole season anymore. they should move Manny to shortstop & look to trade JJ once he's healthy.

I'd actually prefer to keep Manny at third. No doubt he can still play short, but I've always been of the school of thought that you never play two guys out of position in situations such as these. The Orioles could also bring up Paul Janish from Norfolk (who I think is about to go on paternity leave) to play short. He can't hit a lick, but he is a decent defensive shortstop.

Janish is due to come up for the OAK series, I believe. He's good defensively and he has, I am told, been hitting recently.
If he's good defensively, he can fit in Buck's scheme even without a good bat; Buck values defense. And he has several infielders who can hit very well.
They really need to fish or cut bait with Kim.
