Too bad Manny lost his temper last night. Any idea what kind of suspension he will get? I hate to see the right side of the infield without him and JJ for too long.

I speculate five days, which he will appeal down to three. Given that he's known to throw at people intentionally, and that Ned Yost is okay with that, I'd like to see Ventura benched for at least two starts. But since Manny charged him, he probably won't get any kind of suspension.
Per the news this morning, Manny's apparently got an attitude of his own. He does little annoying things like blow on his fingers after he gets someone out. However, those don't *hurt* people. Still, it's disturbing if his arrogance matches his talent. Despite the quote, it IS still bragging when you can do it. And it's no more palatable.

I will start out by saying that I watch absolutely no baseball so the only thing I know about these two players is what I have learned today.
If Ventura is known for hitting players on purpose than that should be dealt with.... HARSHLY. A hit from a ball going 99 mph could be a career ender. According to an interview with his coach his teammates are getting a little tired of his actions. That says a lot!!
In reality, if that pitch was intentional, Machado was defending himself and doesn't deserve punishment.
When they figure out a way to deal with larger than life arrogant dbags.... I hope they share the formula because they are everywhere!!

Four game rip. Ventura nine games. Manny will appeal; Buck says it will likely not be heard during the Jays series.

maybe he can get it reduced to 3 on the appeal. 9 games is what, 2 starts? That doesn't seem fair to me. Ventura should miss more games than Manny.

Hell, the way Ventura's pitched this year, MLB is actually doing the Royals a favor by suspending him. The Orioles, however, not so much.
I suspect Machado may get the suspension reduced by a game or two on appeal. There's also the possibility--since the appeals process could take more than a month--of Machado dropping the appeal and serving the suspension at a later time when it may be more convenient for himself and the team to do so.
