He essentially murdered a woman, and "plead guilty" to leaving the scene of an accident. The fix was in, regardless of who 'dictated his sentence'. Thank you so much for your opinion, Redleg... You're welcome. It's based on reported facts, not conjecture based on personal relationship.

We, neither you nor I KNOW for an absolute fact that EITHER of them were actually drunk... Kennedy's doctor said he had a concussion... the only thing we can do is speculate about what we believe happened based on our own perceptions... you don't like the Kennedy's... nor the Clintons... I do... both have served our Country well... I won't stoop to calling you childish names just because you don't like them... no wonder you like Trump... I won't comment on Arlington other than to say that there are more than many there with questionable character... it's what it is... Garbage breeds garbage, Patty is both a doper and a drunk hopefully he'll follow his sister to an early grave. Lets not forget Willy Smith, another real gem, perhaps the entire strain should be euthanized? Drunken Teddy has as much right to Arlington as an illegal alien. This sums up his military career perfectly, "While stationed in Europe, he traveled extensively on weekends and climbed the Matterhorn in the Pennine Alps. He was discharged after 21 months in March 1953 as a private first class. " He was a real rank grabber wasn't he? Can you imagine what a slug he was and let his buddies do the work for him at their expense? I won't even get into his record as a cheat while at Harvard.

I think Aboutwell's right about it being "only" 10 hours. Of course, he didn't call the police. He called his lawyer. And, yes, I suspect he spent those 10 hours sobering up. I absolutely know that if he'd been simple Joe Nobody, he would have faced manslaughter charges-- or, at least, an investigation. Count him amongst the "rich boys" who make ordinary folks cynical about the justice system. "Some"... not "only"...

Regardless, had his last name not been Kennedy, and not been a "prominent" Party of the KKK racist, he would have gone to prison for manslaughter. Period. He let her die to protect his political career.

Thank you for your opinion, Redleg... the judge didn't agree...

Thank you for your opinion, Redleg... the judge didn't agree... As I said, if his last name hadn't been Kennedy, and he hadn't been a ranking member of the Party of the KKK, he would be in prison. Do you really think the judge, in that area, didn't know who he had in front of him?

Sure he did... and as I also said, thank you for your opinion... the judge didn't agree with you...

Sure he did... and as I also said, thank you for your opinion... the judge didn't agree with you... The 'judge' knew which side his bread was buttered on, and what was likely to happen to him if he did allow Chappaquidick Teddy to be convicted.

You're just full of opinions, Redleg... thank you for all of them... unfortunately, as far as Ted Kennedy and Chappaquiddick go, they aren't worth much these days...

You had a man, from an extremely prominent Democrat family, with a history of illegal activity, who drowned a woman in his car, refused to bother with calling the cops until he was sober enough to pass a breath test, and called his lawyer before he called the cops, and you don't think the 'judge' looked at who he had in front of him, and made sure he wasn't convicted of any more than he had to do? I think he made a deal with the clan, that Chappaquidick Teddy would get manslaughter, because he couldn't realistically let him off with nothing.

What "I" think doesn't matter, Redleg... neither does what "you" think... it was what the "judge" thought that mattered...

What "I" think doesn't matter, Redleg... neither does what "you" think... it was what the "judge" thought that mattered... Maybe. Unfortunately, that assigns an untenable situation to our society, in that judges are not immune from outside pressure, ideology, or self interest. That means that, when judges ignore the law to further their agenda, or for personal gain, they are not to be given plenipotentiary powers. Just like the judges that have ignored the law to stop Trump from doing what he has every legal and Constitutional authority to do, when judges ignore the law in furtherance of whatever agenda they have, they should not only be ignored, but removed from the bench immediately.

Been that way forever... a judge tried to get my wife to pay him in a very personal way several years ago... actually put his hands on her... she couldn't mention it because, of course, he's have denied it... and we couldn't prove it...
Oh, well...

Oh, well... But that's the point. The judge let Chappaquidick Teddy skate, because he was either afraid for his person, or because he profited from it. He didn't skate because he was "innocent". He essentially murdered Mary Jo, and got away with it.

Sure he did... and as I also said, thank you for your opinion... the judge didn't agree with you... Judges can be paid off, some legislate from the bench. One less now, Stephen Reinhardt joins Gerry Horgan in dumbass hell.
