Democrats support 97% of our wants and needs a a labor union... what else would you suggest?... So, labor unions want Socialism, racism, sexism, homophobia, and shari'a law? That's what the Democrats stand for these days. Besides, the 'leadership' might support the Dems, but the rank and file may not. That means the 'leadership' the workers money to support people the workers don't want. No, we don't want those things at all, Redleg... but the Democrats are much more in line with what we do want than the Republicans are...

As long as they avoid undertaking political agendas irrelevant to the job and don't exist to merely wield power, I support private sector unions. Unions should provide value to the employee in such a way that workers will want to join them voluntarily and not by force. I'm not as much in favor with public sector unions because conflicts between the union and their members' employer ultimately impacts the tax paying citizens. You're thinking what I've always been thinking, Microg...

I sometimes do feel like a fish out of water here... BIG Trump supporters... Clinton/Obama haters... we didn't get last in most everything by accident... some folks worked really hard to get where we are... Republican majorities in the state House and Senate... all state elected officials, save one, are Republicans... and want to stay there... Ignorance reins superior in Mississippi... but it is home for me right now... Mississippi having the highest percentage of black residents in the country—37 percent, no doubt would argue your point. Sounds like a serious polarized population.

The Party of the KKK has now become the Communist Party of the USA, has always and still is racist, sexist and homophobic, along with anti American, yet you claim unions don't want that. But, they are in line with what you want. So, which is it?

But, they are in line with what you want. So, which is it? Here's the bottom line: people now have a choice and can vote with their wallets. They can decide that union membership is beneficial to them, and continue to contribute if they wish. Or they can walk away if they wish. Either union leadership will become more responsive to membership or it won't. If it doesn't, it will likely shrivel up and blow away.
