It seems like the obvious choice. But maybe it would be better if the Trumpublicans get their way and the voters give the Democrats both houses and the White House

In my opinion, Trump Team's lawyers are correct that it is not the job of the Senate to do work that should have been completed by the House, including calling witnesses. Nevertheless, if we are going to open this can of worms witnesses, I think there should be just 2. John Bolton and Hunter Biden. And both should have to show up. If either one is absent, the other one should not have to testify.

The Senate vote Friday to allow subpoenas for witnesses and documents failed 49-51, with two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Mitt Romney of Utah, joining Democrats to back extending the trial.
