NFL To Add Second Team In Jacksonville NEW YORK—Citing the overwhelming success of the Jacksonville Jaguars, NFL officials unveiled plans Tuesday to add a second franchise in Jacksonville by the 2017 season. “Over the last 20 years, we’ve seen that Jacksonville, Florida is a city passionately devoted to professional football,” said league commissioner Roger Goodell, adding that he believes the market in Jacksonville can easily sustain one, if not two or three additional NFL teams. “Obviously, the Jaguars have set a very high bar that would be difficult for a second team to surpass, but if the Jacksonville Pythons were to enjoy even a small fraction of the Jaguars’ popularity, this would be a worthwhile investment.” Officials revealed that to maintain inter-conference balance, the league would also add a team in San Diego, St. Louis, or Tampa Bay. www.theonion.com/articles/nfl-to-add-second-team-in-jacksonville,34393/?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=Default:1:Default |

It must be a spoof on Goodell's announcement last weekend that they're looking to put teams in LA and London.

The Onion has had a lot of funny sports stories, like the Yankees not being able to afford better players or the guy who blamed God for liking the other team better and making him drop the would be winning TD pass.

I continue to be amazed that Jacksonville was awarded an NFL team ahead of Baltimore. Tagliabue should hang his head in shame at such idiocy.
Nearly as amazing is the fact that Jax has not picked up Tebow. Say what you want about his abilities or lack thereof, without a doubt the guy would put arses in the seats. And the Jags need plenty more turd cutters out there on Sundays.

Jacksonville's team was to be Baltimore's team originally. sure glad it turned out this way instead. |

Considering that some think Belichick had the Browns primed for greatness when Modell moved them to Baltimore versus a start up franchise - yeah, Baltimore got the better end of that deal. |
