I don't know about that but the Chinese seem pretty smart I'm not saying they're not. But developing a quiet submarine is as much art as science... It also depends *a lot* on crew discipline.

You have never been a crew on one, walking around in your stocking feet and whispering will not make up for clunky machinery. Ive spent hours at silent running, AC off, creeping along at 3 kts and still gotten caught by sound. Ill go with good science over art in sub design. Remember when Toshiba sold computers to Russia and Swedish company sold milling machines for prop design and milling that allowed them to leap 10 plus years in sub quietness. They never matched us but that advance lowered the chances of us wining submarine battles. China Im sure is trying to steal information and the technology to do the same as we sit here.

How would it wreck their economy? The American corporations that have moved over there will just find other customers. They don't care about this country. That's why they moved the jobs over there in the first place. No regulations, they can pollute, they can abuse workers! Yippeee The world is finite, and US is world's most developed economy. Africa, South America, large parts of Asia are still quite undeveloped. US companies contract with Chinese manufacturers- they rarely, if ever, own anything outright- Chinese laws make that quite difficult. China's success is built on selling cheap labor to US market.Yes to US specs specifically engineered by ebil right wingers to intentionally pollute the air!

Americans Say America Is Still No. 1, For Now Global GDP numbers tell a clear story: The U.S. is the world’s No. 1 economy. By a wide margin. U.S. GDP is about twice China’s. When measured on a per-person basis, the U.S. has an 8-to-1 edge over China. But a lot of Americans don’t see it that way. The latest piece of evidence comes from the financial website, The Street, which polled 1,005 Americans and asked them which country is “world’s dominant economic power.” Twenty-eight percent of those polled chose China, while 59% chose the U.S. Looking ahead five to seven years, those polled were a lot less confident in the U.S. position. By 2018 to 2020, 36% said China would be number one, compared with 43% for the U.S. blogs.wsj.com/economics/2013/11/03/americans-say-america-is-still-no-1-for-now/?mod=e2tw

Pentagon, State Department silent on reports outlining Chinese nuclear attack plans on U.S. cities The Obama administration declined to comment on Sunday on provocative state-run Chinese media reports outlining Beijing’s nuclear war plans, including land-based and submarine-launched missile strikes on U.S. cities that would kill up to 12 million people. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf and Pentagon spokeswoman Cynthia Smith would not respond when asked about the highly unusual Chinese reports published Oct. 28 in numerous major Communist Party-controlled television and newspaper outlets. The Chinese reports included maps showing nuclear strikes on Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest, along with the resulting radiation plumes stretching thousands of miles across the western United States. www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/11/04/pentagon-state-department-silent-on-reports-outlining-chinese-nuclear-attack/

I would not bet on it yoda, And its the fast attacks that go after the Boomers Yes, I know. My point was that we can match or exceed them in floating nuclear capability. And I'll bet their attack subs aren't as quiet as ours, which would make it a little difficult for them to neutralize those boomers or get by SOSUS. I guess what we know of their capability is classified. Not for long, though, with The Puppet gutting the military to pay for his socialist agenda.

I don't recall you referring to George Bush as a "puppet" when his strings were being pulled by Darth Cheney and the neocon cabal.

Just shows that China is the new threat, much like the old USSR was And history has shown us that the USSR was not much of a threat.
