Like me, my brother-in-law has type 2 diabetes. He was diagnosed a couple years ago & put on medication, told how to test his blood & watch his diet. He has basically ignored what he was told & is pretty much in denial. The most effort he made was to take his pills sporadically. Then came the mini stroke. Still ignoring his disease. These past few weeks he has really been on my mind & I believe the Lord put it on my heart to try to talk to him & let him know how worried I am about him. I did have a couple brief conversations with him, the last time on Christmas Eve. He told me he's been having kidney issues. Also tried talking to his wife but she has pretty much the same state of mind. They are both stubborn & are more inclined to listen to infomercial crap than doctors.
Got a phone call from her yesterday saying he had gone to the er the night before because he felt bad & was having blurred vision in one eye. Turns out his blood sugar level was over 500. They admitted him for the night & read him the riot act.
He is only 50 years old, is not overweight & physically active so he still could have a nice long life ahead of him if only he makes the changes that will save his life. So I'm asking please remember Eric in your prayers so that he will open his mind & listen to the doctors. He has a lot of changes to make in his eating & drinking habits & I know from personal experience it can be tough. Especially for someone like him who eats loads of cake, cookies, ice cream, etc. and love drinking soda & juices that are loaded with sugar.
Thank you.

I will pray for him, you and the family. As you know, it can take a village sometimes to help people change old habbits. May God grant you peace, comfort and wisdom to help you with your brother. In Christ Jesus I pray, Amen.
