I don't get any of this. The officer was just doing his job. That's the way most see it, myself included. They already have the National Guard deployed for this. And I bet the Guard will have guns. Whether or not they will have ammunition for those guns is another matter. whatever happen to "if you break the law" you're going down, no matter the race. can't be any more simple than that. Not always true. In many cases if you know someone in power and/or can afford a really good lawyer or can make the case about something other than what it is you chances of walking are pretty good. Here’s a list of a few who beat the rap.

First, your link is to the Atlantic, a member in good standing of the LR media. Second, they equate evidence with causation. Just because most of the interactions with the police are from blacks doesn't mean racism. It may be that the blacks are breaking the law more than whites. Should black criminals be ignored just because the police have reached their quota of black stops? The thing is that Officer Darren Wilson did not know that Michael Brown was a robbery suspect when he was stopped. The link to the Atlantic article was used because it included a simple, easy to read chart (a must here) on Ferguson police activity. Since, Brown was not a known suspect to Wilson at the time of the stop it backs up the profiling shown in the charts. This is not to say there was not an altercation which caused Wilson to fire his weapon. It does, however, illustrate the history of issues between the black population and the police. Whether or not the officer knew of the robbery or not doesn't matter... Brown knew about the robbery and likely thought the officer knew... (and feared being arrested)... and if they were walking down the middle of the street, I would expect an officer to tell them not to do that... it is aggravating to see someone walking down the middle of the street and won't get out of the way so you can drive down the street... they seem to expect you to drive around them...

The actions of the two young men is the significant cause of this episode. "J walking" is a sign of laziness maybe, and worth a citation. As I understand it, walking in the travel lane in Jefferson was a defiant 'statement' meant to send a message. Most people don't do that. Those that do are either not very bright or intent upon annoying others. I fail to see how the term 'profiling' can be applied to an officer attempting to resolve a hazardous situation. If the Grand Jury does decide to prosecute, this issue is merely prolonged for a very long time. A huge cost to the County and a boon to the major media and those groups who are locked and loaded.

So how long will the media stick around to stir the pot..?? Seems a week has gone by with no decision. The longer they stay the more reports, more reasons to rile up the crowd.
CNN is reporting the officer is going to resign to deflect the issue away from the rest of the police. The spin has started that if he does he is admitting guilt. Whether indited or not he will live in fear of retaliation for the rest of his life.

Which is based on the fact that nobody has posted such. And your opinion is based on....finding racist bogeymen under every rock. Now be a good little monkey and get that last word! LMAO. That's how you quit every time you have a hissy fit with me here. You call me a name and blather on about the last word. So predictable. If you don't like my opinion, I suggest not reading it rather than getting all snarky as usual and dragging down the discussion. Add some value to the board for once, start a thread or something besides fighting for once. Go easy on the little fella, will ya

It would be utter suicide for Wilson to try to work as a police officer anywhere in the greater St Louis area ever again... Maybe he's trying to get some severance pay to help him get a good start somewhere else... (like Mark Fuhrman did in Sand Point)... after all, he was just doing his job as a Ferguson police officer...

When did J-walking become a capital offense?
Cops could shoot down hundreds in B-more during every game at Camden Yards.
