I just bought a Ford Raptor pickup truck LOL. No you didn't. Why do you have the pathological need to lie all the time?

Because nothing impressed people like buying a pickup truck, right?
Are you drunk this early?!

I have concerns that privacy and data security have taken back seat to financial greed. Technology used to seem cool, now it appears to me solely as a mechanism to get consumers to part with more money. No matter how much advertisement pitches try to convince otherwise, we do not need to order milk while driving down I-95 at 75 mph.

Yeah. I don't have any Alexas or Dots because I don't need a surveillance ASIs in my home. Same thing for my car.

Because nothing impressed people like buying a pickup truck, right? I'll leave it to the headshrinkers to figure out the "why". As far as Alexa, I use it at home and love it. I'd be fine with having an interface in the car.

And it might be true. But if even 10% of the allegations about Amazon's corporate culture are true, it's run by some nasty people whom I choose not to trust.

I've tested what it's recording and am fairly satisfied that it's true. At any rate, they won't get any valuable info from me. The benefits outweigh the risks.

The microphone is always 'On The Air', unless you physically disable it. How else would it be able to answer to it's assigned name?

Keep digging that hole old man. You've never actually used the device have you? It has minimal onboard memory. If it's going to save something, it has to stream it. It only starts streaming if you turn it on with the trigger word. Now, care to continue getting your arse handed to you?

Only an idiot troll would keep up the insulting "old man" jibe. Clearly it is you that hasn't used or even seen the Amazon 'Alexa' device. Let me educate you. The device has just 4 buttons. One for volume(+), one for volume(-), one for activate without the trigger word and one for guess what - 'MUTE MIC'. When you press that one the light ring turns and remains SOLID RED, When the Mute is engaged you can shout the trigger word to your hearts content and it will not engage. The device itself does not save anything, the servers at Amazon do. The device will only work when it has a WiFi online connection. Using your own anal fetish - it is you that is continually getting your arse handed to you. You are demonstrating your ignorance and stupidity. Don't you ever tire of being embarrassed by your own ignorance?

I guess you are just too old to understand these new fangled things. It's certainly amusing though when you try to pretend you do and repeatedly get your arse handed to you for your trouble.

You own one - bullshyte! You are making an absolute prat of yourself here, even your usual rightie buddies aren't supporting you on this and if any of them had any balls, they would agree with me. How much egg can one idiot troll collect on his face? You aren't smart enough to know when to stop being a twat.

The microphone is always on (unless you mute it) and that is an established fact. In truth, it comes down to how much do you trust Amazon or Google to not listen to, or record what your device hears? I personally wouldn't trust either of them further than I can throw them.

What part of being online do you have difficulty with? If it only held its recordings on the device itself there wouldn't be a problem in the first place. I can not believe that you can be this stupid.
