Obamacare is making some folks happy, others miserable. If the poor and takers out vote the working middle class that this law hurts, well. we're screwed. But those folks usually don't vote- the only exception has been for Obama.
It's absolutely bad for the economy. Just wait until the Cadillac plan tax kicks in. Cuts to hours are adding up, as well as companies refusing to expand hiring. And loss of income to afford rising family care premiums will impact, too.
Oddly, a few state are seeing things get cheaper- mostly states that were overpriced to begin with, like New York. But the majority of the nation is seeing rate hikes, anywhere from a few percentage points like in Maryland, to a doubling of fees in others.

The website not getting off the ground has no logical connection to the idea obamacare might or might not work. But you knew that right?

The individual mandate should be postponed until this website is fixed --- assuming it will be.

You are very biased in your statements and opinions and fair people seeking real answers should ignore such a partisan opinion.

They have opinions about their suspicions, and that's it! Actually, we do know many facts. Big companies like Target and Traders Joes are dropping insurance for part-time folks and limiting hours.Small business hiring has slowed down. Rates are posted for all 50 states -the stats are all over Facebook- some states, 3 or 4, did well; the rest have gone up slightly to doubling or more; unions are crying about the Cadillac plans- I had to re-do my math for my plan now- thankfully, my plan value seems to be "silver".....but just a bit more coverage, I'd be looking at a 40% tax on it- essentially an 8grand tax hike on my income. That's money out the economy..or driving me to lesser insurance, increasing my out of pocket expenses and deductables. Do we know exactly what the future will hold? Well, Madam Zorba is a lying douche, so that wont' work. But the best predictor of future outcomes are past outcomes-- and discouraging wages and hiring while raising prices and taxes on benefits has never increased the economy or the well-being of the people.

The website was not ready to be opened on 10/1/13. I agree that government is slow and cumbersome . And I also know websites , computer programs often have glitches that take time to straighten out. But you must be honest by admitting this has nothing to do with whether obamacare might or might not fail.

The website was not ready to be opened on 10/1/13. And they had quite some time to prepare. It bodes ill for its future effectiveness, and the overall management of this program. Can you imagine if we went single-payer, and the site for national enrollment was crashing like this? If nothing else can support the idea the big government is incompetent government, this certainly does.

Oh I agree with the premise that government is pretty dis functional and dumb. I'm watching this obamacare with great interest. I haven't really commented on whether I think it succeed or not. I guess we will see . I just enjoy teasing the known partisans.

Barack needs to issue a true apology. Anyone in any leadership role for the implementation should be canned quickly and publicly.

Obama apologize? You have got to be kidding. The HHS Secretary will retire with a nice pension. You and I both know that.

The website not getting off the ground has no logical connection to the idea obamacare might or might not work. But you knew that right? Given that the website is how you register for it, it's absolutely crucial for the website to properly function for Obamacare to work. CNN was airing an segment while I was at gym-- a fear is that only the unemployed due to severe illness have the patience to clearly get through, and if healthy folks are discouraged by these failures, they won't sign up, causing a "death spiral" where healthy people will not balance out the sick, causing premiums to sky rocket. First impressions are lasting ones.
