Cold air building over the Central states will expand toward the East during the balance of the week and will be accompanied by snow in some locations. High temperatures mainly in the 40s during the later part of this week will replace highs in the 60s in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. AccuWeather RealFeelĀ® Temperatures will plunge into the 20s and 30s at times during the daylight hours. However, the temperature drops will not be as extreme in the East as they were over the Central states. This storm system has the potential to bring a swath of light to moderate snow over the Appalachians. It could turn cold fast enough to bring some snow to the northern and western suburbs of the I-95 corridor in the mid-Atlantic and New England and possibly rain ending as snow in some of the major cities. The amount and extent of that snow will depend on the strength of the storm and the speed of the reinforcing surge of cold air. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/cold-to-freeze-east-snow-chances/37206290

Be careful anyone out west, very dangerous temps Very true, RC... BILLINGS... 10 BELOW TONIGHT. LIVINGSTON... 13 BELOW TONIGHT. MILES CITY... 11 BELOW TONIGHT. SHERIDAN... 16 BELOW TONIGHT. COOKE CITY AND HIGHER MOUNTAIN VALLEYS... 15 TO 30 BELOW ZERO.
THREATS... EXPOSURE TO COLD THIS EXTREME CAN BE DEADLY IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED...
FROSTBITE CAN DEVELOP ON EXPOSED SKIN IN 15 MINUTES. HYPOTHERMIA OCCURS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATE CLOTHING AND YOU CANNOT KEEP YOUR BODY WARM.
PLAN FOR THE WORST... IF YOUR CAR BREAKS DOWN DO YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL CLOTHING OR BLANKETS IN CASE IT TAKES MORE THAN A HALF HOUR FOR HELP TO ARRIVE.

OMG! Snow in winter! No worries, the climate change folks are pouncing on it anyway. Warmer temperatures bring moisture further north earlier in the year... as cooler air moves south due to seasonal change... resulting in more snow... as expected...

If this is a sign of what winter will involve, I think that my wife and I may relocate to Tahiti. I'm too old to shovel snow, even with a snow blower.
