Driving up I83 last evening from about Exit 27 through Exit 36 at about 6:30 p.m. I drove through a decent snow squall. At times, traffic slowed to 50 mph but I'm not sure why.

It isn't like it was sticking to the road. I drove through one on my way home last night as well. Kept it at 60mph and never had a problem.

Decent snow squall, wondering why traffic was below 50mph Some drivers are fickle (and may a little tipsy...). You get one like that in front of the pack and nobody wants to pass for fear of getting sideswiped. The pace picked up after Exit 31, so I presume the problem driver(s) got off there. The snow wasn't causing a problem on the road as shutout said. It wasn't slippery.

It was just a snow squall, not a winter event impacting roadways or visibility.

It was such a non event that I still do not know where my ice scrapers are located.

Well, it's snowing again up here. The streets and sidewalks are covered again. The ground was never "uncovered," so now it makes it look deeper. I don't expect we'll get any real accumulation, though.

It wasn't "the white death" up here, but if I did not have to, I wasn't going to go out and run around just to say I could. I like to give Carroll time to clear the main roads, so you don't have to contend as much with people who have no clue how to handle a vehicle in the snow.

What? You mean one can't go 70 MPH on sheet ice in ones SUV? The yuppies in their HUMMERs and AWD BMWs think they can.

I love winter but I hate being cut off when it really snows. Hasn't happened yet...keeping fingers crossed. We're too far from anything and can't walk to a convenience store or a pub or even a coffee shop, so it can feel pretty isolated very quick. You look down the driveway and not even the headlights of a passing car can be seen.

I'm pretty sure I'm not too far from EY, maybe about 5 miles tops.
