It does not matter how the question is asked when trouble arises. Whether it is: "what are you going to do now" or "now, what are you going to do?" The answer should always be the same; "Trust in my Lord, Christ Jesus, who will direct my paths and the Holy Spirit who will grant me peace." John 7:37 & 38 (NKJV) 37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Sometimes keeping it simple is best. Proverbs 30:7-9 (NIV) 7 “Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God."

If you have hope, you have it all. Jeremiah 17:7 & 8 (NKJV) 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

It is easy to fall into the fables of this world, afterall, they are just kids, it is all for fun, or is it..... 1 Timothy 4:6-10 (NKJV) 6 If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. 7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

With one week left until the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Christ Jesus, presures, stress, maybe even a little fear surround us as the world presses in with its demands. No matter if the bonus comes, or not, if the stockings are hung with care, nor if the presents apper to hold up the tree, Christmas is about Jesus, about the gift He gave us, the gift God gave us in Him. John 14:25-27 (NKJV) 25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

One of the great pleasures of giving a gift to a child is watching their face light up, showing their true feelings, the pure joy and amazement as they open the wrappings. The shock of the gift they so desperately wanted but could not imagine they would receive. This is how God wants us to feel about the gift of Christ Jesus, how we so desperately want Him, did not know how much we needed Him, but are joyously saved because of Him. Romans 5:19-21 (NKJV) 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 4:9-12 (NIV) 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

If there is no place like home for the holidays and, if home is where your heart is.... If Christ Jesus is in your heart, are you already home? Think of the following words coming from God, to you; 3 John 2-4 (NKJV) 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

While you are making your lists, checking them twice, make sure the names on the list know who it is we celebrate. While we know when the time for the last minute for shopping is, we rarely know the most important last minute. Jude 24 & 25 (NKJV) 24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.

God never said it would be easy, but He does say, with the help of His Holy Spirit, we can overcome anything, anything this world throws at us, Praise Christ Jesus! 1 John 5:4-7 (NKJV) 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

It is not about the tree nor the presents you see, it's about the gift that was given to you and to me. The gift of a baby to touch our hearts, so that we could be the gift to a world torn a part. Do not be concerned with what you get, be thankful for some one wanting to give to you. Ephesians 4:1-5 (NKJV) I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Joy to the world, our Lord has come, let earth, receive her King! Show God's light to those in your life who may be alone today, who are feeling the loss, missing some one who cannot share this day with them. Just a phone call may be the joy they need. John 8:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Every good thing we do, is glory to God. Even the little things that might go unnoticed by human eyes, are seen by God, even a simple smile and nod of the head to some one. Revelation 22:12 & 13 (NKJV) 12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

Sometimes a week can seem like a day, a day like a minute. Other times, a minute can appear to last a month; perception. When we wait impatiently for something, it always seems longer than when we wait patiently, confidently, knowing that it will happen. Galatians 2:19-21 (NIV) 19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

Trust; it does a life good. Luke 12:22-25 (NKJV) 22 Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

God's word is not a weapon for people to use against each other. Yes, sometimes in love the truth will hurt, but if said righteously, it is understood as help, not criticism. We are not to be a judge, that is for God. Mathew 5:8-12 (NKJV) 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

DILIGENT-: characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort : painstaking <a diligent worker>. Hebrews 11:5 & 6 (NKJV) 5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. John 6:56-58 (NKJV) 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

Happy New Year everyone! Every morning just before the sun comes up as I sit outside waiting for the painting that is the sunrise, hundreds of crow flee from the East to the West, just before the sun breaks the horizon. I have to wonder, did vampires evolve into crows? Think about it, that many crows will make quite the noise, sucking the sleep out of anyone trying to get some rest......... Mathew 6:25-27 (NKJV) 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 (NKJV) 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from all appearence of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

If you are going to be late, then be prudent with the time you have. In these conditions, many will be late, some will hurry and either be very late, or not make it to their destination. So patience, there are only two things we will never be late for; birth and death. Psalm 37: 5 & 6 (NKJV) 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

It is never easy when we want something, but God knows that it is not right for us. It can be difficult to see that He wants the best for us and that what we want now, doesn't compare to what He has for us, when we are ready. Proverbs 8:30-35 (NKJV) 30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, 31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men. 32 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it. 34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord.

Cold, it can suck the life right out of people in matter of minutes. We rush to get inside out of the cold, sometimes so quickly we forget others, those who live or work in this weather. Spend a little extra time with God in prayer today, this week, praying for those who live outside, work outside, and those who cannot afford to heat their homes. You have to take time to warm up the car anyway, so spend that time in prayer. Psalm 8:1 & 2 (NKJV) O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! 2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

I went outside this morning to see the sunrise, but the sun was frozen over........... 1 Peter 2:9-12 (NIV) 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
