God did not see us through to this point in our lives to let us fail now. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NLT) 24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

God is constantly working with us, on us, crafting us and even those we encounter, into the person He wants, He needs us to be. Romans 12:1 & 2 (NKJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Do you know what day it is? It is a day you can start fresh in the new spirit, the new heart, the new you; if you will trust God to lead you. Ephesians 4:17-24 (NLT) 17 With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. 18 Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. 19 They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. 20 But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. 21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Please be on the look out for the "little goblins" running through the neighborhoods today as you drive through. Also watch for those misguided hooligans who want to take advantage of the little ones, candy thieves. 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 (NIV) 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

With the winds and rain today, there will be wet leaves on the roads. They can make it as difficult to stop as trying to drive on ice. Becareful out there people. Daniel 12:2&3 (NKJV) 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

This weekend most of us will get an extra hour when we awake Sunday morning. Some will use that hour to sleep or to rest. Others will use it to get something done around the house. What if we get up at what would be the "normal" time and use that extra hour to spend with God, in prayer, reading the Bible, doing something for some one out of God's love? Ephesians 4:31 & 32 (NKJV) 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

This morning you are either tired or well rested. Maybe the kids are drving you nuts, perhaps you have peace, or just feel dejected. In any case, jump up right now, "shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing. Power and majesty praise to our King." You will feel better once the the blood starts running through your veins, the peace you have is God saying He loves you. Romans 8:23-25 (NKJV) 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Have you ever has someone in your life take advantage of your kindness over and over again? It doesn't feel good, does it? How often do we take advantage of God's Grace, Mercy, His forgivness? You see, He doesn't want us to be perfectly sin-free, that is why He sent Christ Jesus. He doesn't want us to live in sin either though...... John 8:10-12 (NKJV) 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Kermit the frog once sang; "it's not easy being green." The message was not about his color, more so about the difficulties in being different from everyone else, he was the only frog afterall..... In today's world, God wants us to be different, He knows it is difficult to say; "I do not do that any more, or that is not a good thing to........" But He gave us the Holy Spirit to comfort us, give us courage, to give us His peace. Hebrews 12: 1 & 2 (NKJV) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

By taking a burden off of some one we accomplish two things. They get stronger as they carry a lighter load. We get stronger as we carry a heavier load, so that when our combined strengths are needed, nothing can stop us. Romans 14:16-19 (NKJV) 16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

God wants to make your heart His home, will you open the door? Will you show Him to the door when the world says you can? 1 Peter 1:6-9 (NIV) 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

"Father of life draw me closer Lord, my heart is set on You, Let me run the race of time With You life unfolding mine And let the peace of God, let it reign." Hillsong Colossians 3:14-17 (NKJV) 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Think on these verses today, let them sink into your mind, your heart, let them flow from your pours. Romans 5:1-5 (NKJV) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Let the world see Christ, through you. Psalm 37:3-6 (NKJV) 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

"That we should be to the praise and glory, who first trusted in Christ.." (Eph. 1:12) We should be, not we have to be, or must be, but should be. In other words, we need to put forth the effort in everything we do, from household chores to curing a disease, with a thankful heart and to His glory by way of an honest effort. That is how we worship Him every day. Philippians 1:27 & 28 (NIV) 27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God.

There are so many people out in the world today spreading the word of God for a living, rather than living the word of God. We need to be sure we spread the living word of God freely for those who are just going through this world. 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 (NKJV) 14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

With open arms, as a father holding his child for the very first time, God desires to hold you. Galatians 4:4- 7 (NKJV) 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

It is time to wake up, time to stretch the sleepness of this world off and smile to those who are sleep walking through this world so that they too may not stumble in the darkness. Romans 13:10-14 (NKJV) 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. 11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

The will of God, a God who knows yesterday, today and tomorrow. Who loves us so much, He gave of Him self, in Christ Jesus, so that we could be a part of His family, sitting around the table at ThanksGiving. Let His will be done in your life. 1 John 5:12-15 (NIV) 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

In Genesis 32:22-32, we are told of the time Jacob literally wrestled with God. Jacob just wanted to live his life, the way he wanted to live it,the way the world at his time, said was "fine". Even in his way of living, he still wrestled with those in society, trying to fit in, trying to find his way. God knew it was the right time to speak with Jacob, get him on the "right path", He knew the only way to reach Jacob was to come down, wrestle with him, let him get a "win" he desperately needed. What are you wrestling with today that might be be keeping you from walking the path God has chosen for you? God knows you need a "win", so just trust Him. 2 Conrinthians 4:16-18 (NKJV) 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Temptations are all around us, more so than at any other time in the history of the world. The pressures of society, of technology, from families, all keep us from spending time with God, the greatest temptation. Yes, God understands how busy we are, He accepts that explanation, but are we using excuses to keep from doing what God wants, time with us. Psalm 7:9 & 10 (NKJV) 9 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. 10 My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart.

In Luke 20:25, Christ Jesus is speaking to the Herodians, working His way, as only He can, through the trap they attempt to set for Him. While they speak about money, look at the sequence in a different light. He is telling them to give to God what is God's and He does not mean money. My friends, you are God's, so give your self to Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit who resides in you, through Christ Jesus. Mathew 11:28-30 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
