So is this thread now about Cosby or Clinton.. For once I agree with him, this thread has been made about aboutwell. These guys seem to want it to be about me... (I don't)... they love me so much... all I have to do is post... just ask EY, Rocketwolf, Ranger John, or a couple of others... Vosa seemed to agree with me a bit here...

Using that definition I would say Paterno was competent/good as a football coach and incompetent/bad as a human being, which is what I believe EY said. Thank you... then Paterno was indeed like Carville told me about Clinton... a good man (coach) who did a bad thing (covered up a crime)... vosa understood what I meant. You did not. Your use of 'good' is at best ambiguous and at worst disingenous, because it could and mostly like would be interpreted as you saying Paterno was a morally good man who did a bad thing. He was not. He "did a bad thing" for a decade. He covered up quite a few crimes. And they are not "hearsay" - Sandusky was convicted of those crimes and is serving a prison sentence now. Paterno was not a morally good man, that's a morally evil man.

It seems that most likely you would interpret it that way because that's how you want to interpret it... you have no clue as to how I meant it... You misinterpret quite a few things I say... because you seem to want to...

I couldn't care less if you or anyone else responds to what I say... it's you guys who are the attack wh**es... that seems to be pretty much all you want to do when I post... Just don't respond... I'll still have said what I want to say... and won't have to spend so much time trying to get you to understand what I say or mean or making a fool out of some of you guys... or pointing out how you have on your own... You're the loser either way...

You don't know what competent means? Why not ask one of the famous people you know? James Carville's just a phone call away, right? In other words, you DON'T WANT to answer my question... because doing so would blow some things you've said about being "good" right out of the water... And you say "I" say things just to stir folks up... And as to your question... yes, he is... (This post is another "good" example of someone attacking someone else on only one small segment of a post and totally ignoring the rest of it... I offered to prove it to you... but you ignored my offer... Here's what you ignored:I couldn't care less whether or not you believe it... but he told me face-to-face in the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill... I can get you the date... you can check his schedule... and I'll give you mine...
And JFTR... I didn't say Carville told me anything about "the inner workings of the Clinton administration"... only that Bill was "a good man that did a bad thing"...) I see you didn't want to touch this one, EY...

I see you didn't want to touch this one, EY... Sure didn't. Because - and I recommend this advice to everyone else here I'm not engaging you any longer. Satisfy your craving for attention elsewhere.

How many times must a "good" person do a bad thing before he/she becomes a "bad" person?

People do good and bad. Some j walk and some do not... Some may have experimented and some may not. But its very rare that someone says so what he raped her --- or so what they raped a child unless you are ISIS or hmmm lets see.... (thinking) an idiot.
Those who justify the really bad seem to have some closets themselves. As if they were not caught then they are not guilty. But I believe there is an ultimate judgement that you can not hide from or evidence from.

How many times must a "good" person do a bad thing before he/she becomes a "bad" person? Good question... I prefer to look at all of a person's life... what someone does a few times or over a period of a few years in the course of a long life... isn't enough for me to consider them "a" bad person... and I stress "a"... but like Carville said... they may be "a" good person who did "a" bad thing... even several bad things... I mean, even for those of us who believe in Scripture... know that Peter denied Christ 3 times... Paul, as Saul, persecuted Christians... did that make either, or both, of them "a" bad person... personally, I don't think so... look what Peter went on to do... some even believe he founded the Catholic Church...

A "J walker" causes a driver to swerve to miss them... but when they do they hit a pregnant woman and kill her and her unborn child... is that "bad?"... or "really bad?"... And nobody here has suggested or implied that rape or child molestation is not a serious crime... nor that either should not be prosecuted if it can be proven...

How many times must a "good" person do a bad thing before he/she becomes a "bad" person? It depends on the "bad thing" doesn't it? Rape is pretty bad. So is facilitating rape (especially child rape). In my view, a single such act is sufficient to wipe out any good things such an offender may have done. And he can never do enough good things to wipe such an act out, either. I am intolerant of the depraved.

Well, that does explain not being Christian... which is one's own business... Not really. The "decision" to become an atheists involves a lot more factors then just a person's interpretation of good and evil. I put "decision" in quotes because a person does not simply wake up one morning and say to themselves "I think I'll become an atheist". A person becomes an atheist because the religious principles they have been taught are slowly undermined by their life experiences. Of course this does not apply to people who have been raised as atheists, but I suppose the same process might apply, i.e., the atheist principles they have been taught are slowly undermined by their life experiences and they become religious.

I agree... but not being willing to forgive others for wrongdoing is ONE of those factors... which, like I say, is YOUR business... and I agree that some things are just very hard to forgive... and ever forget...

Rapists and child molesters rank as pure evil in my book.

I don't think such folks think such a thing is "acceptable"... I think they still know it's wrong... but like you said, they got away with doing something wrong...
Kinda like a lot of people who are caught doing something wrong and saying they are so sorry... I say No, they aren't sorry... not for what they did... they're just sorry they got caught doing it...
